Bloom is a successful marketing and
advertising service provider offering
numerous services such as press, outdoor, media, radio, ambient and point of sales. The company has enjoyed rapid growth in its business during the past 3 years.
The company uses specialised accounting software designed for the marketing and advertising world. This software (strata business system) is integrated with the bookkeeping, media activities, production and time management systems. The strata system is maintained and supported by the software developers who are based in Dublin.
The client initially approached OWA, to carry out a trial of our full management reporting, payroll and Vat reporting and filing systems. Before this could be put in place there was a requirement for us to work with the Companies Auditors, to put through the previous years audit adjustments. In this respect, we liaised with the auditors on all aspects of the brought forward balances as well as understanding the business risks. This was a very valuable exercise as it assisted us to better plan the execution of our services. In this respect, it became clear that the part-time
book-keeper was an integral part of our plans to carry out this exercise successfully. Following the departure of a part-time bookkeeper, OWA was approached by the Managing Director to extend our current trial to include the complete book-keeping services. We embraced this challenge and managed the program remotely. The trial started in November 2005 and was completed in February 2006.
During this trial, up to date
management accounting reports were presented to management and all reports were discussed with the Board to agree the quality of the information being prepared. All
management reports are now prepared monthly and available to the Board.
Our Team has successfully trained our staff in Sri Lanka, who now do all the data entry and the preparation of the
managements reports. These reports are available by accessing our web site. This service is a combined effort of our front and back office teams and
evidence of this was demonstrated during the recent year end audit, which
according to the client and the audit was the best they had experienced.
The trial project was a great success and we thank our client for the kind
co-operation and assistance in carrying out our duties. In this way we have now become an integral part of the
management reporting and administrative structure of the Company. Our client
continues to enjoy our fresh approach to accounting as we provide a complete bookkeeping and management reporting service which gives the client up to date
financial data of their business in this rapid changing industry.
